William Shepherd Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of William Shepherd of Charleston, West Virginia. William, born on January 29, 1947, passed away on September 21, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember William for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While he will be deeply missed, the influence he had on the lives around him remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. William’s memory will live on in the hearts of friends and family, a lasting reminder of the connections and experiences he brought to the world.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Banks Shepherd and Francis Prince Shepherd. He is survived by: his wife Jane; his son Clarke (Megan) of Billings, MT; his siblings, Ann Prince Engel (Ted) of Indianapolis, Francie Hieronymus (Bob) of Austin, TX and Banks (Gerri) of Daniels, WV; and his pet Loki.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Matthews Episcopal Church (36 Norwood Rd, Charleston, WV 25314).
