It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard E. Merriman (Chester, West Virginia), who passed away on April 5, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James S. Merriman and Marie T. Merriman (Henkle); his wife Erla Mae Merriman (Wollam); his daughter JoAnn Hudson; his siblings, James "Bus" E., Charles "Chalk", Harry S., Elsie "Copie" Merriman and June A. "Peggy" Jewel; and his granddaughter Jessica Hudson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Theresa James of East Liverpool and Sallie Mott of East Liverpool; and his grandchildren, Timothy James, Allison White, Richard James, Christina Hudson and Lindsey Crowley. He is also survived by his twelve great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John Lutheran Church in memory of Richard Merriman.
