He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac H. Covert and Inez Swan Covert; his daughter Roberta Campbell; and his brothers, Isaac Covert and John Covert.

He is survived by: his wife Kimberly Sue Covert (Fox); his children, Chrystle Weimer, Isaac Covert (Nicole), Renee Covert, John Covert and Wayne Tate (Jennifer); his stepchildren, Travis Yohe and Courtnie Stowe; and his siblings, Jean Davidson, Virginia Cunningham (Daniel) and Bob Covert (Ronnie). He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
