Benjamin Tony Portaro Obituary

We are sad to announce that on March 17, 2023, at the age of 102, Benjamin Tony Portaro (Clarksburg, West Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Pietro Portaro (Pete) and Carmela Vallelonga Portaro; his wife Claire Marie Portaro (Frankenstein); his sons, Joseph "Joe" Portaro and Benny Portaro; his daughter-in-law Chris Portaro; and his siblings, Emma Belcastro and William "Bill" Portaro.

He is survived by: his children, Marie "Bonnie" Bernadette (Daniel Alder) of Virginia Beach, VA, Margaret Teresa (Miles Tate), Annette (Mike Smith) of Brownsville, PA, Edward "Eddie" Michael (Joan Freeman) and James "Jimmy" David (Onnie Bergman) of Clarksburg, WV; his sisters, Sylvia Basile of Clarksburg, WV and Helen Cutright of Bridgeport, WV; his daughter-in-law Sharon D. Portaro; and his grandchildren, Christopher Ryan (Melissa Alder), Lauren Alder-Reid (Mike Reid), Richard (Dora Barnes), Jennifer (Steve Shuba), Michael (Heather Smith), Natalie (Dustin Kniffen), Jessica (Phil Ruiz), Emily Portaro (Soren), Benjamin Portaro, Susanna Portaro, Thomas (Miranda Portaro), Daniel Bergman, Brandon Bergman, Sarah and Matthew (Emily Bergman). He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.
