He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter E. Goodwin and Waneta Gay Bee Goodwin. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Sommerville Goodwin; his children, Rebecca "Becky" Goodwin of Clarksburg, Barbara Ann Miles (Richard "Mike") of Shinnston and Brian Dale Goodwin (Kim) of Clarksburg; his grandchildren, Michael Scott Miles (Selena Hutchinson) of Shinnston, Dustin Cole Miles (Brittany McDonald) of Shinnston, Brandon Lee Miles (Taylor) of Charlestown, Amanda Perkins of Clarksburg, Michael Perkins (Jessica Gee) of Jane Lew and Bree Goodwin of Lumberport; and his great grandchildren, Rayleigh, Eilene, Easton, Emrik, Willow, Charlotte, Brooklyn and Corbin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
