He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Richards and Lovie Cross Richards; and his former wife Brenda Kay Quinn Richards. He is survived by: his children, Ernest C. Richards, II of Kingwood, WV and Holly Echard (Vicky Messenger) of Bridgeport; his stepson Eric Quinn of Ohio; and his sister Diane Devericks. He is also survived by six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
