He was predeceased by: his parents, William Exel Goodwin and Marguerite Lyden Dilly (Margie); his wife Sylvia Eleanor Heidelmeier of Clarksburg; his siblings, James W. Goodwin, Donald Goodwin, Fred Goodwin and Betty Lee Goodwin Sparks; and his daughter-in-law Cheryl Lee Ashcraft Goodwin.
He is survived by: his sons, Mark Alan Goodwin (Crystal) and William "Bill" Goodwin (Nancy) of Clarksburg; his grandchildren, Amy Goodwin Mercer, Stephanie Fernandez Goodwin, Gregory Goodwin and Justin Goodwin; and his great grandchildren, Mason Mercer, Logan Anglin, Kylee Anglin, Harper Fernandez, Camden Fernandez and Jackson Goodwin.
