He was predeceased by: his parents, Bruce Robert Murphy and Verna Rose Murphy; his brother Bruce Murphy; and his nephews, Harold James Murphy and Audie Swiger.
He is survived by: his brothers, Harold Murphy of Buckhannon and Audie Murphy of Clarksburg; his nieces, Joyce Arbogast and Linda Merriman; his nephew Travis Murphy; and his close friend Steve Ables.
