He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Grayson Orr and Ruth Alma Osborne Orr; his wife Shirley Devers Orr; and his sisters, Helen Swecker and Polly Taylor.
He is survived by: his daughters, Diana Crim (Michael) of Mount Clare and Brenda Conklin (Frederick) of Smyrna, Georgia; his grandchildren, Heather Florence (Cory), Eric Hall, Sarah Crim, Jack Conklin and Grayson Conklin; his sister Millicent Bowers of Marietta; and his great grandchild Madelyn Florence. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home (201 Edison St, Nutter Fort, WV 26301). The lying in state will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Duff Street United Methodist Church (400 Duff Ave, Clarksburg, WV 26301). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home (201 Edison St, Nutter Fort, WV 26301).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in John's memory to the Duff Street United Methodist Church which will be designated to the Shirley Orr Memorial Food Pantry Fund.
