It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Neil Messenger of Clarksburg, West Virginia, who passed away on March 11, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell B. Messenger and E. Mae Messenger; his brother Donzel; and his sister-in-law Diane Messenger of Minerva, OH.. He is survived by: his significant other Esther Mae Messenger (Sions); his sons, Russell F. (Rusty), Edgar N. Messenger (Eddie) and Daniel W. (Danny); his grandchildren, Cory Messenger (Cheyenne), Emily Childers (Tyler), Avery Messenger, Julia Messenger, Alyssa Messenger, Bryce Messenger and Owen Messenger; his sister Josephine "Kay" Gibson; and his brother-in-law Rockie of Good Hope. He is also survived by extended family made up of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, March 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home (201 Edison St, Nutter Fort, WV 26301). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM and at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the Sycamore Community Church, 1578 Sycamore Rd, Clarksburg, WV 26301, in honor of Neil. Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at http://www.amoscarvelli.com.
