He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Smith and Wilma Long Smith; his sister Nella Thurman; and his nephew Brian Hustead. He is survived by: his wife Diana M. Hustead Smith; his siblings-in-law, John, Janet Hustead, Jerry, Cheryl Hustead, Jim and Mary Hustead of Clarksburg; and his sibling's children, Bobby Schetzel (Cheryl), Erik Hustead (Holly), Mike Hustead, Jimmy Hustead and Melissa Hustead.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Perine Funeral Home (1348 S Pike St, Shinnston, WV 26431). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
