He is survived by: his wife Kathy Jo Godbey Gibson; his sons, Russell Gibson of Virginia, Jason Schmidt (Kathy) of Ohio and Willie Lee Gibson II of Oceana; his stepchildren, Jeff Parker (Doreen) of Beckley and Rebecca Treadway (Frank) of Fairdale; his brother Larry Gibson (Rita) of Kentucky; his grandchildren, Hannah, Drayke, Alicia and Levi; and his stepgrandchildren, Courtney, Ethan, Frank and Vince. He is also survived by five step great grandchildren.
