He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Hughes and Juanita "Edie" Church Hughes; his mother-in-law Jerry (Pat Meadows); his brother-in-law Gerald Meadows Jr.; and his sisters, Dorothy Juanita and Linda Hughes Agee (Johnnie).
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Meadows Hughes; his siblings, Dora Jean (Jerry Brown), Katie (Allen Walters), Carl (David Hughes) and Roy Hughes of Gap Mills, WV; and his siblings-in-law, Pam Campbell and Troy Campbell. He is also survived by friends and all of his church family.
