He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Adkins and Leona Moore Adkins; his sons, Jonathan Matthew and Jeffery Michael Adkins; his grandson Jeffery Campbell; and his siblings, Jimmy Adkins, Judy Sauter, Richard Gene Adkins, Steven Adkins, David Adkins, Betty Adkins, Sherry Nan Hager and Jerry Adkins.
He is survived by: his wife Lora June Hager Adkins; his children, Walter W. Adkins Jr. of Lewisburg and Tabitha Nicole Adkins of Charleston; his grandchildren, Jacob Adkins-Wolfgong, Jessica Adkins, Charles Nicholas Mullins and Kaitlyn Mullins; and his sister Jewell Kaetzel of Maryland.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Amos E. Quesenberry Funeral Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home (729 Flat Top Rd, Shady Spring, WV 25918). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
