He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald R. Handschumacher and Elizabeth "Mae" Wilt Handschumacher; his wife Carolyn Lewis Handschumacher; his sisters, Virginia Davis Handschumacher and Janie Handschumacher; and his grandson Gerald R. Handschumacher, II.
He is survived by: his son Gerald Ray Handschumacher (Crystal) of Charleston; his granddaughter Destiny Handschumacher; his siblings, Barbara Bell (Allen), Larry Handschumacher (Kathy), Ernest Handschumacher and Nancy Welch (Roy); and his niece Julie Davis Harvey. He is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
A reception will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM. A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Morris Funeral Home (160 Railroad Ave W, Cowen, WV 26206).
In lieu of flowers, Gerald requested donations be made to Saving Webster County Dogs.
