Evelyn Moses Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Evelyn Moses (Crab Orchard, West Virginia), who passed away on December 5, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Childs and Clara Bonham Childs; her sister Patricia Hall; her brother-in-law Thomas Fred McKinney (Ibra Leonard Moses, Jr.); her boyfriend Jim Surbaugh; and her friend Linda Burgin.
She is survived by: her daughter Deborah "Deb" Lamey (Fred); her siblings, Verdie "Took" Blanche McKinney and Daniel "Bo" Childs (Carol); her aunt Ruth Carol Peters (Wayne); and her uncles, Donald Bonham, Jim Lytton and Robert Cooper. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Orchard Park (1404 Robert C Byrd Dr, Crab Orchard, WV 25827). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
Evelyn was cremated as she wished, and the family requests that instead of flowers or gifts, that a donation be given in her memory to Hospice of Southern WV or the Historic Fayette Theater which Evelyn enjoyed supporting so much.
