She was predeceased by : her parents, Edward Calvin Dowell (Pitch) and Rebecca Elizabeth Baldwin Dowell; her siblings, Randy, Eddie Dowell and Lynda Stevenson; and her nephew Larry Stepp.

She is survived by : her husband Kenny Mitchell; her son Joshua Lee Jones of Squire; her siblings, Roger Baldwin of War, WV, Jerry Dowell of North Tazewell, VA and Starla Marrs of North Tazewell, VA; and her niece Ashley Dawn Stroupe (Frankie) of Beckley, WV..

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Grandview Memory Gardens Cemetery (38659 Gov George C. Peery Hwy, Bluefield, VA 24605).
