He was predeceased by: his mother Grace Wood Taylor; and his siblings, Imogene Young, Betty Wingo, Harold, Kenny and Jerry Taylor.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Perry Taylor; his son John Wesley Taylor (Kimberly); his brother-in-law Clarence Wingo; and his sibling's children, Pamela Ash, Sharon Snyder, Doug Young and Jeffrey Taylor.
