He was predeceased by : his parents, Jack Minear and Annabelle Shoemaker (Cussins); and his grandson Zachary Edward Lambert. He is survived by : his wife Diana Jean Shoemaker (Howell); his children, Janet Lynn Lambert of Martinsburg, Holly Ann Sponaugle-Sander (David) of Elkton, VA and James Michael Shoemaker (Crystal) of Thomas; and his grandchildren, Madison Leigh Lambert, Dustin Anthony Sponaugle, Annabella Ivy Shoemaker, Emily Sarah Sponaugle, Addalean Nina Shoemaker and Michael Cole Shoemaker.

Viewing was held on Friday, May 24th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home (567 Thomas Ave, Davis, WV 26260). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 25th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
