He was predeceased by: his father Jeremiah F. B. Higgs; and his grandparents, Walter, Dorothy Mills and Harvey Higgs. He is survived by: his mother Linda Mills; his wife Julie Workman Higgs; his sons, Doniven Higgs, Mason Higgs (Hailee) and Jonathan Higgs; his sisters, Aubrey Mills and Brittney Norris; his goddaughters, Justice and Cammie Teague; and his parents-in-law, Carlos "John" Workman and Lynne Workman. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, great-nephew, cousins and friends.
