He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paul Shafer and Georgia Shafer of Dunbar; his wife Linda Legg Shafer; his brother Randy (Susie) of Martinsburg, WV; his niece Kacy Harmon (Andrew) of Kearneysville, WV; his great-nephew Berkeley Harmon; his stepson Jonathan Boyd of Dunbar; his stepgranddaughters, Breeley Boyd and Addie Spears of Milton, WV; his stepsons, Steve McCord of Falling Waters, WV and Charles McCord (Molly) of Frostburg, MD; and his stepgrandchildren, Kyra McCord of Land, Gwen and Cooper McCord of Frostburg, MD. He was also cherished by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
