She was predeceased by : her husband Ernest "Ray" Higginbotham; her son Brian Smith; her stepchildren, Teresa McCormick and Glen Higginbotham; and her parents, Woodrow Hanshaw and Kathleen Hanshaw.

She is survived by : her children, David Smith (Beth) and Cindy Seiler (Paul); and her stepdaughter Cindy Johnson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
