He was predeceased by: his parents, James Garnet Thompson and Georgia Hypes Thompson; his wife Della Mae Thompson; his granddaughter Charity Dawn Thompson; and his siblings, Wayne Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, Mark Thompson, Richard Thompson, Charlotte Dhaven and Sandra Burks.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Thompson, Jr. of Elgood, Jennifer Thompson of Elgood and Beverly Hunter of Princeton; and his siblings, Joe Thompson (Lisa) of Speedway, Clyde Thompson (Cynthia) of Princeton, Carol Whittaker of Princeton and Tammy Adams. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
