With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Arthur Allen Whitman of Elkins, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 17, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Whitman and Mary M. Shannon Whitman; his son Glen Rollins; and his grandchildren, Erin Faudree and Lee Thomas Arbogast.
He is survived by: his wife Delores Stover Whitman of Elkins, WV; his children, Vanessa Arbogast (Tim) of Buckhannon, WV, Allen Whitman and Gary Rollins; and his grandchildren, Frank Faudree, Gretchen Ehman, Perry Sayre, Olivia Sayre, Valerie Moore-Edwards and Ashley McKay. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
He and Delores loved to cruise the golf course, searching for abandoned golf balls and donating them to local high school golf teams for practice.
