It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Joe Snyder of Elkins, West Virginia, who passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid John Joe farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For John Joe is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Guy and Bertie Olive Pickrell Snyder; and his brothers, Tom and Steve Snyder. He is survived by: his children, John Joe Snyder, II (Autumn) of Buckhannon, WV and Lea Ann Brooks (Leroy) of Buckhannon; his grandsons, Timothy Snyder of Buckhannon and Justin Brooks of Buckhannon; his girlfriend Barbara Lol of Buckhannon; and his brother Martin Snyder (Pastor Robert Grandusky) of Weston.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home (95 S Kanawha St, Buckhannon, WV 26201). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
