He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer and Nellie (Nestor); and his son John Allen Plum, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Patty Jean Plum (Roy); his children, Carla Denise Plum (Steve Becker) of Lancaster, SC and Kenny Plum (Lori) of Morgantown; his grandchildren, Cassandra Elliott (Nick) of Rochester, NY, Eric Becker (Charlotte) of St. Joseph, MI and Max Plum of Morgantown; his great grandchildren, Madelynn and Bailey Elliott of Rochester, NY; his brothers, Elmer Plum of St. George, WV and Jack Plum (Carolyn) of Hamilton, WV; and his daughter-in-law Lisa Plum of Valley Bend.
