He was predeceased by: his parents, Solomon Ryan Gibson and Emma Smith Gibson; and his son Solomon Earl Gibson. He is survived by: his son Jeffrey Gibson of Kansas; and his siblings, Guy Gibson of Elkins and Connie Boyles of Kentucky. He is also survived by one daughter, five grandchildren.
