She was predeceased by: her parents, Omar Tawney and Roxie Falls Tawney; her husband J. Bazil Phillips, Sr.; her children, Daniel Kevin Philips and Nancy Karen Phillips McCarley; her siblings, Glenda Tawney, Vivian Jarrett, John, Donald, Ted and Douglas Tawney; and her grandson-in-law Dustin Romani.
She is survived by: her brother Darrell Tawney; her sons, James B. Phillips, Jr. (Terry) and Keith E. Phillips (Ailene); her son-in-law Rick McCarley; her grandchildren, Michelle McCarley Romani, Chris Phillips (Stephanie), Eric McCarley, Andrew Phillips (Carissa) and Matthew Phillips (Patricia); and her great grandchildren, Cole, Griffin Phillips and Amai Stan-Phillips.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Hafer Funeral Home (50 N Pinch Rd, Elkview, WV 25071). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.
