He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest Hoover and Ruby Hoke Hoover. He is survived by: his son Don Hoover; his siblings, Margie Frame, Carolyn Ratliff, Virginia Stone, Jean Grady, Robert, Forrest, Kenneth and John Hoover; his wife Carol R. Hoover; his daughter Ruth Ann Gregory of Fairlea; his grandsons, Andrew G. Hoover and Robert M. Gregory; and his brothers, Bill Hoover (Janet Kay) of Asbury and Jim Hoover (Anna) of Lewisburg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like all donations to be sent to Clifton Presbyterian Church.
