With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Emma Irene Linn (Fairmont, West Virginia), who passed away on February 20, 2026 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Cecil Shorter and Norma Holt Shorter; her husband Lloyd E. Linn; her daughter-in-law Sharon Vangilder Linn; and her siblings, Charles, Edward "Eb", Kenneth "Kenny", Claude "Tommy", Ricky Shorter, Beulah "Boots" Potts, Myra "Lou" Riddle, Karol Sue Long and Darla Miller.
She is survived by: her children, Lloyd A. "Bugs" Linn and Karen Sue Carpenter (Randy) of Benton's Ferry; her brother-in-law Tommy S. Linn; her grandchildren, Teresa Linn Connor (James), Tammy Linn (Chris), Stacey Linn Vangilder (Wes), Juanita Toothman (Joey), Ricky Ray Linn, Connie Linn Laya (Chad), Shelli Woofter (Ryan) and Kristen Carpenter (Steve); her great grandchildren, Colton Connor (Olivia), Olivia Connor (Austin), Piper Woofter, Chaz Shuck (Laciey), Andrew Shuck (Amy), Dustin Toothman (Chelsea), Megan Toothman (Scott), Ricky Jr., Destiny Linn (Zack), Dakota Linn, Troy Linn (Brandii), Casey Linn and Cassandra Mullenax; her niece Helen Moore (James); and her sons, Larry Lee Linn and Mark Allen Linn. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers friends and family can make donations to the Marion County Humane Society.
