He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Showalter and Madelyn Osborn Showalter; his grandson Brandon Showalter; his brother Charles Showalter; and his mother-in-law Mary J. Bartlett.
He is survived by: his wife Alma L. Bartlett Showalter; his children, Frederick A. Showalter Jr. (Nicole) of Fairview, David L. Showalter of Baxter and Trulie Ledsome (Geoff Phillips) of Fairmont; his stepsons, Bradley Shaffer of Fairmont and Kyle Shaffer of Levels; his grandchildren, Corey Ledsome (Kayla), Carly Ledsome, Ashley Showalter and Brooke Showalter; his great grandchildren, Sadie and Archer Ledsome; and his brother Chester Showalter of Fairmont.
A reception will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, June 20th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A committal service will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
