Janet Thompson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Thompson (Fairmont, West Virginia), who passed away on August 3, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Robert G. Thompson; and her parents, John Sr. Manchin and Mary Manchin. She is survived by: her children, Mary Jo Thompson and Peter Thompson; her granddaughter Isabella Thompson; her siblings, Senator Joe (Gayle Manchin), Dr. John (Kathy Manchin), Paula (Manuel Llaneza) and Rock (Cindy Manchin); and her sister-in-law Carol Manchin. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Calvary Temple (28 Calvary Ln, Fairmont, WV 26554). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Janet by sharing a meal with loved ones or donating a meal locally to those in need in her memory.
