He was predeceased by: his parents, John Prunty, Sr. and Thelma Prunty (Saunders); and his siblings, Henry "Doc" Prunty, Gene Nuzum (Earl), Betty Jefferies (Jack) and Paulette Church (Don).
He is survived by: his wife Margie Lee Prunty (Jones); his children, John Prunty III (Geneva), Michael Prunty (Diane), David Prunty, Deborah Poluck (Louis) and Tamra Ice (Todd); his grandchildren, Eric Poluck, Todd Poluck (Kirstin), Derek Prunty, Kelsey Prunty, Zachary Prunty, Izak Prunty, Travis Wolfe (Tina), Jennifer Smith (Michael), Christopher Wilson and Sam Wilson; his great grandchildren, Braydon Prunty, Josie Poluck, Greyson Wolfe, Bridget, Margaret and Bernadette Smith; and his aunt Kathleen Bissett (Lee). He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
