He is survived by: his son Richard Scott Pyles (Earlene); his grandson Joseph Richard Scott Pyles (Emily); his siblings, Rev. Truman L. Pyles (Wanda), Doris J. Wotring (Charles), Roger A. Pyles of Independence, WV, Marvin E. Pyles (Yong) and Patrick F. Pyles of Port Townsend, WA; and his close friend Linda Rush McCray. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
