We announce the death of Robert Neal Layman of Fairmont, West Virginia, who passed away on July 14, 2026, at the age of 74. Robert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his father James E. Layman; and his brother William Layman. He is survived by: his mother Shirley I. Layman of Worthington; his wife Terri Layman; his children, Chad Layman of Barrackville and Carie Martin (Jake) of Newbern, TN; his stepdaughters, Crystal Peck (Tobias) of Ambridge, PA, Amy Helmick (Kyle) of Fairmont and Heidi Prickett (Zach) of Fairview; his grandchildren, Logan Merrifield, Joslyn Layman, Dylan Martin, Isaac Martin, Elaina Martin and Aiden Martin; his great grandchild Eli Martin; and his sister Becky Skinner (Chuck) of Worthington. He is also survived by 12 step grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
