He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Dight and Bernice Dight; his siblings, Barry and Beverly Winters; his brother-in-law Maynard Winters; his parents-in-law, Irene Givens and John Givens; and his sister-in-law Joyce Givens Brown.

He is survived by: his wife Janet Carol Givens Dight; his children, Aaron and Marsha Bassett (John) of Wellsburg; his stepson Derek Givens (Della) of Wellsburg; his grandchildren, John Jr., Tyler Bassett, Cody and Destiny Dight; his great grandchild Aria Bassett; his siblings, Wayne (Shirley) of St. Clairsville, OH., Doris Bertovich of Wellsburg, WV, Linda Thomas (Bob) of Beech Bottom, WV and Cindy Donovall (Dave) of Weirton, WV; his siblings-in-law, Betty Coffman (Bob) of Wintersville, OH, Karen Whetsell (Mike) of Wellsburg, WV, Jane Wallace (Pete) of Steubenville, OH, Tom Givens (Lynn) of Follansbee, WV and David Givens (Karen) of Wintersville, OH.; and his pet Tiny. He is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
