Matthew Scott Athey Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matthew Scott Athey of Fort Ashby, West Virginia, who passed away on June 21, 2025, at the age of 43, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his parents, Deborah L. Welsh (Ganoe) and Michael S. Athey; his wife Deborah E. Athey; his children, Haley, Noah, Regan, Lucas and Isaiah Athey; his siblings, Lauren Athey, Brooke Athey, Cole Mannebach, Kurt Mannebach, Kaya Welsh and Katie Lutz; and his stepmother Helen Testa. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Upchurch Funeral Homes- Fort Ashby (10182 Frankfort Hwy, Fort Ashby, WV 26719).
