He was predeceased by: his parents, Scott Mackey and Edith Leiving Mackey; his wife Brenda Joyce Long Mackey; and his siblings, Loretta Hall, Scotty, Tom, Edgar and Paul Mackey.
He is survived by: his children, Sheila R. Riggs of Philippi and Chris Mackey (Amber) of Salem; his stepson Bobby Shuman of Fairmont; his grandsons, Avery, Haden and Dylan Atkins; and his siblings, Patty Bell, Charles, Dennis and John Mackey. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
