With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Catherine L. Dowdy of Franklin, West Virginia, who passed away on February 13, 2026 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Catherine is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Veston and Velma Catherine Dahmer (Hedrick); and her brother Stanley Dahmer. She is survived by: her husband Earl Lee Dowdy; her sister Patricia "Patty" Simmons (David) of Franklin, WV; and her siblings-in-law, Margaret Dahmer, Donald Dowdy (Mary) and Dale Dowdy (Judy). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Memorials may be made to Franklin Volunteer Fire Department, and Pendleton County Rescue Squad, PAWS, or charity of the donor's choice.
