He was predeceased by: his parents, Verda Faye Anderson Canterbury of Clendenin and William Edward Canterbury; and his brother Jackie Canterbury. He is survived by: his wife Brenda J. White Canterbury; his children, Chris Vance of Charleston, Jason Canterbury (Judy) of Pee Wee, Jackie Canterbury (Tabitha) of Spencer, Joshua Canterbury of Beckley and Amy West (Mike) of Rockport; his daughter-in-law Natasha Canterbury; and his siblings, Gary Canterbury of Clendenin, Alice Armstrong of Oak Hill, Diane Armstrong (Curtis) of Wytheville, Brenda Stewart (Roger) of Ashford and Peggy Hall of Pinnacle, N. C.. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home (406 Market St, Spencer, WV 25276). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
