He is survived by: his children, Karen Perry (Virgil) of Kermit, Jannie Chapman (Kendall) of Kimper, Tammy Boyd (Clyde) of Louisa, James Preece Jr. of Genoa and Jimmy Preece (Sarah) of Genoa; his grandchildren, Charity Newsome (Winnie), Chelsea Chapman, Tanner Justice (Allison), Brittany Preece, Chandler Chapman (Jasmine), Emily Grace Ratliff (Brandon), Collier Chapman, Ethan Perry, Brittany Elliott (Greg) and Brett Boyd (Brittany); his great grandchildren, Brantley Workman, Easton Workman, Dawson Newsome, Zaylee Justice, Jordan Elliott, Grayson Preece, John New, Kinsley Chapman, Eliana Chapman, Paislee Ratliff, Bryler Ratliff, Colson Ratliff and Silas Boyd; his siblings, Paul Preece (Arlene) of Louisa, Elizabeth Justice of Williamson, Amos Preece (Debbie) of Sedalia and Dora Fuller (Rodney Cremeans) of Huntington; and his close friend Junior Gilkerson (W. Va) of East Lynn. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; as well as family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Johnson Tiller Funeral Home (10030 WV-152, Wayne, WV 25570). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
