We announce the death of Fred Franklin Funk of Gerrardstown, West Virginia, who passed away on August 12, 2026, at the age of 73. Fred will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcellus Pifer and Beatrice Elizabeth Racey Funk; his wife Deborah Elizabeth Mauck Funk; his grandson Logan Maiatico; his siblings, Richard Funk and Brenda Funk; and the mother of his children Brenda McKee.
He is survived by: his daughters, Missy Sulser (Lyndel) of Gerrardstown, WV, Kristy Maiatico (Tony) of Strasburg, VA and Jennifer Jenkins (Jimmy) of Martinsburg, WV; his grandchildren, Austin Jenkins, Randi Bartley (Nick), Noah Clemons (Diamond), Brandon Jenkins, Blake Sulser (Kaci), Nick Maiatico, Madison Perrett (Fabian), McKenna Ambrose (Matthew), Irelyn Jenkins, Brayden Maiatico and Phoenix Jenkins; and his siblings, Eddie Funk (Patti), Dinah Milgrim, Bobby Funk and Rose Linger. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
