He was predeceased by: his parents, Landon Lilly and Wylma Lilly; his wife Geraldine "Jerri" Lilly; his siblings, Orlie Lilly and Maxine Lilly-Gillenwater; and his children, Nicholas Sanna Jr. and Marchia Hovatter (Timothy).
He is survived by: his son Michael Sanna; his grandchildren, Carrie Wills (Jon), Aleyia Debose (Jerrod) and Jesse Sanna; his great grandchildren, Addison Thompson (Savannah) and Ayden Roark; his great great grandchild Parker Thompson; his sister Nell Jean Longo; his sister-in-law Leona Holstein (Paul Holstein); and his nieces, Angela Smith and Greta Walker.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia in honor of J.C.
