He is survived by: his sons, James Edward Smith, III (Alyssa Lester) and Eddie Ray Smith; his grandchildren, Alyssa Smith, Brock Smith, Kruze Smith, Logan Ray Smith, Tyson Ray Smith, Everly Jo Smith and Kingsley Smith; and his siblings, Eugene Chambers (Shellie) of Ripley, WV, Jean Cline Wiley of Baisden, WV, Gaynell VanNatter (Gary) of Horsepen, WV, Joyce Groves (Jimmy) of Horsepen, WV and Kathy VanNatter (Roger) of Charleston, WV.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel Mounts Funeral Home (253 4th Ave, Gilbert, WV 25621). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at the Carter Cemetery (36 Katy Frk, Gilbert, WV 25621).
