He was predeceased by : his parents, Richard Lawrence Austin and Mary Roy Austin Lowe; and his siblings, Beulah McCue, Loretta Jean Sandsbury and Richard "Bub" Austin.

He is survived by : his wife Linda Lu Tyler Austin; his children, Terry Vaughn Austin, Sr. (Teresa) and Keith Allen Austin (Amanda); and his grandchildren, Terry "Homer" Austin, Tyler Lee Austin, Jax V. Austin and Lela Jane Austin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
