He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward Harney Jr. and Marie Arbutis Harney (Miller); and his stepdaughter Heather Hanley. He is survived by: his wife Pat Harney; his children, Corinna Harney-Jones (Chris), John Edward Harney IV (Aimee) and Dorinda Harney-Foley (Mike); his grandchildren, Kyler Jones, John E Harney V, Grace Harney, Kadence Egizio and Hailey Payan; and his siblings, Steve Harney (Linda) of Las Vegas, NV, Ed Harney (Melodie) of Florida, Sherry Alotta (Tony) of Las Vegas, NV and Debbie Goris (John) of Idaho.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel (201 Columbia St, Fairmont, WV 26554). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the West Virginia Nation Cemetery (42 Veterans Memorial Ln, Grafton, WV 26354).
