He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Jefferson and Violet Gertrude Stevens Watkins; his wife Sarah Ethelyn Canfield Watkins; and his son John Robert Watkins, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, George W. Watkins (Barbara), LaDonna Knotts (Jay) and Peggy Lea Watson; his grandchildren, Craig, Misty, Brian, Sharla, Rebecca, Jonathan, Cori and Noah; and his daughter-in-law Sharon Watkins. He is also survived by several great grand children.
