He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter "Junior" Goodwin (Helen) and Ellen Davis Goodwin; his son Joshua Allen Goodwin; his grandson Aaron Joseph Scott Vanderhoff; his son-in-law Brian Scott Vanderhoff; and his siblings, Ed Davis, Theda Rose Adams, Butch Swisher, Steve Goodwin and Gary Davis.

He is survived by: his close friend Debra Kay Quinn; his children, Julia Crites (John) of East View, Lisa Vanderhoff of Gypsy, Stacy Yeager (Ronnie Vanderhoff) of Hepzibah, Terri Nestor of Shinnston, Jessica Tetrick of Saltwell, Abigail Nestor (Tyler) of Gypsy, Jerry Nestor of Gypsy and Xavier Norris of Gypsy; and his brothers, Mike Goodwin (Mary), Jack Goodwin (Tonra) of Lamberts Run and Scott Goodwin (Julie) of North Carolina. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
