He is survived by : his mother Jean Winant; his wife Dinah Zeltser; his daughter Freyja Winant; his parents-in-law, Serafima Nudelman and Mark Zeltser; his brother David Winant (Sherry); his nephews, Joseph Winant and Samuel Winant; and his cousins, Tom Melton (Linda), David Melton, Roy Melton, Eric Bachmann, Austin Bachmann (Elaine), Anna Bachmann, Thea Law, Charles Haeberle (Carol), John Winant (Jane), Robert Winant (Kristen), Phil Winant and Kathy Osborne (Jamie).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Heifer International, an organization Edward felt strongly about, or to the Peace Corps (https://www.peacecorps.gov) for which he and both his parents volunteered.
