With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ira Lindy Hale in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 17, 2025 at the age of 96. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Ira leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Ira may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy E. Hale and Verla V. Hale (Wade) of Haletown. He is survived by: his children, Annette Hale (Michael Buscher) of Harpers Ferry, Phillip Hale (Deborah) of Harpers Ferry and Lawrence Hale of Harpers Ferry; his grandchildren, Geoffrey Hale (Courtney Daly) of Arlington, Meredith Hale of Asheville, Elizabeth Buscher of Greensboro and John Hale of Harpers Ferry; his great grandchildren, Genevieve and Bronwen Hale of Arlington; and his sister Mary Carolyn Hill of Haletown. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Zion Episcopal Church (301 E Congress St, Charles Town, WV 25414).
